Las Vegas Union Raises Questions about NV5 Global’s Trump Connections

LAS VEGAS, June 9, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The Culinary Union in Las Vegas has raised questions about NV5 Global Inc. California segment in connection with company executives’ support for President Trump. The company is holding its Annual Shareholder Meeting on June 10th at Red Rock Resort in the Summerlin master planned community.

NV5 CEO Dickerson Wright made four donations to the Trump Make America Great Again committee in 2016. And on January 25, 2017, NV5 Senior Vice President Kevin Wedman tweeted: “I will be your Chief Building Official of the Wall Project @realDonaldTrump @POTUS.” Mr. Wedman is based Sacramento, California.

“Has NV5 bid on President Trump’s proposed border wall?” said Levi Pine, a Culinary Union analyst. “Given the strong anti-Trump sentiment across California, which NV5 calls ‘a key geographic region’, it’s hard to understand that tweet or the CEO’s support for Trump.”

Shareholders are encouraged to ask NV5 leadership at the upcoming shareholder meeting if the company bid on President Trump’s proposed border wall, and if so, how that might impact NV5’s ability to secure future contracts with public entities in California.

The State of California, the City of Los Angeles, and the San Francisco Board of Supervisors are all considering legislation whose effects range from requiring city contractors to disclose if they participate in building the wall, to outright prohibiting contracts with companies who bid on building the border wall.

Over a third of NV5 gross revenues in 2014, 2015, and 2016 came from California-based projects, according to the company’s 2017 Form 10K.
