Everyone knows about the tragedy that occurred on April 14, 1912: the sinking of the RMS Titanic. Since the sinking of the ship, many films have been made. James Cameron’s Titanic and Roy Ward Baker’s A Night to Remember have both reached critical acclaim, but which film has the most historical accuracy?

James Cameron’s Titanic does cover the events of the Titanic sinking, but the film mainly revolves around an ill-fated love story by Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet’s characters.

Roy Ward Baker’s A Night to Remember gives insight on more characters from each class, and how they struggled to survive that night. Though Baker did not have the same budget and technology as Cameron, Titanic historians and survivors have applauded Baker’s A Night to Remember for its accuracy.
